The full name of Mahatma Gandhi was Mohandas karamchand Gandhi. Peoples said him Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2 October1869 in south India present Gujarat a city porbandar. Mahatma Gandhi was a leader of Indian freedom campaign.

message of peace around the world through the policy of non-violence.

non-violence apart from violence, which gave independence to India.
Major movements of Mahatma Gandhi: -
The whole life of Mahatma Gandhi had gone to the movement
and to liberate India. There were 5 movements organized by Mahatma Gandhi,
which may be known by all, but out of which 3 movements are dedicated to the
nation, let us read who are those movements and the history of Mahatma Gandhi:

Champaran movement in 1917:
-
The Champaran movement was the first movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi in the Indian state of Bihar. When Gandhiji came to India, the British rule at that time asked the farmers to grow indigo and the rest of the cash crops on their farm land and sold the crop at a cheap price.
The farmers had to face extreme poverty. Gandhiji demonstrated against
the British against this movement in April 1917. Due to
this movement, the British gave peasants a break in the collection.
Kheda movement in 1918:
-
The Kheda movement was a movement
against the British government in Kheda district. The main reason for this
movement was the British government to collect tax from the farmers. The
movement was led by Gandhiji and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. This movement lasted
for about 5 months which ended in May 1918.
Khilafat Movement in 1919:
-
After the First World War a lot of accusations were made against the Khalifa and the Turks. The Muslim people started the Khilafat Movement in collaboration with Gandhi ji to take care of the Khalifa and improve the pathetic condition of Turkey.
Gandhi ji met him in 1919 to get his
political support and started the Khilafat Movement with him. Mahatma Gandhi
returned the medal received from the British government in Africa after this
movement. Since the success of this movement, Mahatma Gandhi was made the
status of a national leader.
Non-cooperation movement in 1920: -
The Jallianwala massacre was carried out by General Dyer
in Amritsar, Punjab, during the 1919 Rowlatt Act Satyagraha by Gandhiji. This
made the residents of India very angry. Leader Muhammad Ali and Shaukat Ali
tried to launch a non-cooperation movement against British rule.
Gandhiji supported him. Gandhiji urged the Congress to
start a non-cooperation movement against the Khilafat Movement and jaliyaawala
hatyakaand. In this way Gandhiji started the Non-Cooperation Movement in 1920.
In the non-cooperation movement, Gandhiji had forbidden people to cooperate
with the government.
Wideness of non-cooperation movement: -
Non-cooperation movement gained momentum in 1921-22.
Thousands of students had left government school and college. The degree given
by the British was returned. People lit holi of foreign clothes everywhere. And boycotted all foreign goods.
Extent of movement with issues: -
In many places, people opposed the British government.
Many people protested in a way that did not meet Gandhi's ideas.
Tribals and farmers performed forest satyagraha in Andhra Pradesh district of India.
Farmers in Gujarat campaigned against the revenue imposed
by the government.
Closure of liquor shops in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Tea plantation laborers in Assam sought to increase their
pay and they quit English plantation jobs.
When the Non-Cooperation Movement was in its final phase in India, in 1922, when the peasants attacked and burned the Chaura Chori police,
Gandhi withdrew the Non-Cooperation Movement because Gandhiji was
against violence. 22 policemen were killed that day. The peasants were
uncontrolled because the police ne had fired at them.
Quit India Movement: -
There was discontent in the country due to the tyranny policies of the British Government. During the Second World War, the country gave the slogan of Quit India in 1942. After this people started opposing the British government. All this incident happened in August 1942, due to which it is called August Revolution and Quit India Movement.
This was a mass movement of national independence. Its influence was seen in the youth movement seen all over India. The third major movement was the one launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1942: Quit India Movement. It was started by Mahatma Gandhi in August 1942. But this movement could not succeed due to the mistakes made in this movement.
There were many reasons behind its failure, such as: Students, farmers, etc.
were taking part in this movement and there was a big wave in this movement and
the movement did not start simultaneously in the whole country. Due to the
beginning of the movement on different dates, its effect was reduced. But this
movement was so influential that the British feared that their rule would no
longer run in India.
Civil Disobedience Movement and Dandi March: -
The Civil Disobedience Movement was
an important movement of Mahatma Gandhi against the British Government.
In March 1930, Gandhi ji placed his 11 conditions in the newspaper of Young India. If the government had agreed to those conditions, he would have stopped this movement, but Lord Irwin's government did not respond to this, according to which Mahatma Gandhi started his movement.
This movement started
on 12 March 1930, which was led by
Gandhi ji from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi village of Gujarat state. In Dandi
village, he violated the law to tax salt by making salt from the salt water of
the sea. People opposed the laws in many places. Women participated in this
movement. The main female among whom was Sarojini Naidu. After this movements,
Lord Irwin signed an agreement with Gandhi ji in 1931 which
is called "Gandhi Irwin Agreement".

agency of Bristol expected only Rs 14 lakh in the auction of this spectacles.
